Providence Children’s Hospital unveils $15M neonatal intensive care unit

Providence Children's Hospital recently unveiled and opened its new state-of-the-art, $15 million dollar Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The latest investment project by The Hospitals of Providence unveils El Paso’s newest and most modernized Level IV NICU, equipped with 30-beds, private suites, and advanced technology, to care for the sickest of babies in need of advanced care. The new unit provides a quieter atmosphere, along with a family lounge for family members to unwind or work while they are visiting their baby. The new private suites offer families the opportunity to stay in a room with their baby, as each room features sleep loungers.

“We are incredibly proud of our highly skilled NICU team who already offers each baby the highest level of care, and now with this new NICU, we have an atmosphere that matches this same level of skill and expertise,” said Rob J. Anderson, Chief Executive Officer, The Hospitals of Providence and Providence Children’s Hospital. “Having a baby in the NICU can be an extremely stressful time for any parent, our goal is to offer a comfortable and soothing atmosphere for parents and families until they can take their little one home.”

Providence Children’s Hospital is proud to offer a Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal Care Center, providing the highest level of care in the State of Texas for both mom and baby.

“This project has truly been designed with the care and comfort of both babies and families in mind,” said Anderson. “We are proud to continue investing in our community to provide our patients the high-quality care they deserve close to home.”
