Baptist Health System opens new Baptist Neighborhood Hospital in Converse, Texas to better serve the community
Baptist Health System opens a new Baptist Neighborhood Hospital, in Converse, Texas to bring exceptional care to people who work and live nearby.
The Baptist Neighborhood Hospital, a small-format facility, offers similar service lines as a traditional hospital, but with a smaller footprint. The micro-hospital offers patients speed, convenience, and value-based, high-quality comprehensive care. Patients have access to enhanced specialty care through direct integration with Baptist Health System’s extensive network of acute care hospitals and specialists.
“Baptist Neighborhood Hospitals often offer the closest access to care when every minute counts in an emergency,” said Matt Stone, Baptist Health System Group Chief Executive Officer. “Whether emergency services or inpatient care is needed, our Baptist Neighborhood Hospitals deliver the same high-quality, compassionate care that our patients trust at our acute care hospitals.”
Baptist Health System partners with Texas-based Emerus Holdings Inc. to operate the hospitals, which has allowed for geographic footprint growth of more than 100 square miles.
Vic Schmerbeck, CEO of Emerus, credits the Baptist Health System leadership and its teams for the success of the healthcare model, which Emerus created and launched in 2006.
“We serve as a support mechanism for the success of this incredibly innovative brand of Baptist,” Schmerbeck said. “Our care model aligns with Baptist’s and we are great partners in a shared vision of providing the right care at the right time – at the right place and at the right cost.”
