Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute at St. Mary's Medical CenterThe Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute at St. Mary’s Medical Center is utilizing advancements in new radiation-free surgical technology to maintain its longstanding commitment to innovation and patient safety.

Harry Shufflebarger, M.D., and David S. Feldman, M.D., recently performed the first surgery in South Florida using the 7D Surgical System, the first and only FLASH Navigation System featuring machine-vision technology. The machine-vision technology utilizes specialized cameras that analyze a patient’s anatomy and then create a full-color 3D image reconstruction that is used for surgical navigation. The system is designed to perform fast, efficient, cost-effective and radiation-free spine surgery.

“The Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute has a history of innovation, and the implementation of this new surgical technology is just one example of an ongoing commitment to giving patients a healthier future,” said Dr. David Feldman, Associate Medical Director of the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute.
