Tenet Pharmacy Team
Tenet’s pharmacy team, led by Traci Holton, was recently honored with an award by HealthTrust for supply chain excellence and the related benefit to providers, patients and communities. As a result of the significant contributions by Traci and her team, Tenet was presented with the Gita Wasan Patel Pharmacy Excellence Award for 2020 at the virtual HealthTrust University Conference on August 4. Along with Tenet, four other member organizations were recognized in different categories as part of the ceremony.
The Gita Wasan Patel Pharmacy Excellence Award honors the legacy of Gita Wasan Patel, former Division Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services for HCA. She was well known as a brilliant pharmacist with a tremendous impact on the lives of many patients.
In congratulating the Tenet Pharmacy Team, HealthTrust noted, “We cannot think of a pharmacy leadership team more deserving to honor [Gita’s] legacy.”
Tenet was selected to receive this honor based on a submission that documented a number of clinical pharmacy, utilization standardization, and cost-savings initiatives across 65 hospitals and was the highest rated in the category of Pharmacy Excellence. The entire team was recognized in a HealthTrust press release as part of the award, including:
- Traci Holton, vice president, ancillary services optimization
- Matt Moss, director, pharmacy operations
- Ryan Koca, director, clinical pharmacy
- Jordan Cottam, regional director, pharmacy operations
- Sally Sims, regional director, pharmacy operations
“Traci’s leadership, growth and development in the company is the driver of this success, and we are very grateful for her incredible contributions,” said Saum Sutaria, Tenet’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “During COVID, she has played a critical role in partnering with our Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer to lead our command center. Her approach is always fact-based and driven by inquisitiveness, and we appreciate the tremendous impact she has had on the organization.”
Traci also credits Tenet’s leadership for their support of the program. “It is because of this support that we continue to set higher goals for our team and pharmacy across Tenet,” she said. “It is an honor to be recognized by our colleagues and peers for the accomplishments of the program.”
