The Hospitals of Providence East Campus Breaks Ground on $20M Medical Unit

The Hospitals of Providence East Campus recently broke ground on a new 20-bed medical unit to add much-needed bed capacity in the rapidly growing area in El Paso, Texas. Construction officially kicked off with a ceremonious groundbreaking and turning of dirt by hospital leadership, elected officials and dignitaries, and Governing Board members.

This latest investment by The Hospitals of Providence represents a $20 million-dollar commitment to add the city’s newest medical unit, consisting of 20 private rooms specially designed for patient comfort and healing.

“Since 2008, we’ve been committed to caring for East El Paso. As the community has grown, we have grown with it,” said Tasha Hopper, Chief Executive Officer for The Hospitals of Providence East Campus. “We are incredibly proud to be investing in our community to help ensure access to care is readily available.”

The new medical unit is scheduled to open in December of 2025. With the additional unit and expansion, East Campus will grow from a 218-bed hospital to a 238-bed hospital.
