Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville Earns Accreditation from American College of Cardiology
Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville has earned Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation with PCI from the American College of Cardiology, highlighting the South Texas hospital’s continued commitment to award-winning cardiac care.
The accreditation, which remains active through 2028, is a recognition of Valley Baptist-Brownsville’s culture of collaboration, patient safety, and high-quality cardiac care, according to guidelines established by the American College of Cardiology.
The cardiac catheterization lab at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville is a highly-specialized unit in the hospital, where cardiologists work alongside specially-trained nurses and technologists to perform a wide variety of minimally invasive exams and advanced cardiac procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease.
Leslie Bingham, CEO for Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville, said the hospital’s successful cardiac cath lab accreditation is just one validation of the high-quality care Valley Baptist-Brownsville has provided for more than a century.
In 2020 and 2023, Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville also was awarded the Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI from the American College of Cardiology, based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
