Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen opened its doors to their new Pediatric Emergency Room on August 4, 2017, providing specialized care that will give parents and patients peace of mind.
The new emergency department features 12 beds and state of the art equipment, as well as bright décor to lift patient’s spirits. With nearly a third of the county’s population under the age of 18, a pediatric emergency department is crucial to provide quality care.
Valley Baptist CEO, Manny Vela, is excited to have a pediatric emergency department connected with the hospital. “At Valley Baptist, we have had the privilege to serve the children of the Rio Grande Valley since 1925, and over the years we have added services to help meet the needs of our littlest patients.”
This emergency department adds to the comprehensive pediatric care that Valley Baptist-Harlingen offers, including the only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Harlingen and Matt & Patty Gorges Children’s Center.
