The Hospitals of Providence (THOP) Sierra Campus in El Paso, Texas, has earned the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence, the highest cardiology designation granted by the American College of Cardiology (ACC). THOP Sierra Campus is one of only 10 hospitals in the U.S. and the first in the region to receive this designation.
Hospitals receiving the HeartCARE Center designation from the ACC have demonstrated their commitment to consistent, high-quality cardiovascular care through comprehensive process improvement, disease and procedure-specific accreditation, professional excellence, and community engagement.
“This is an incredible achievement for our Sierra Campus and for The Hospitals of Providence,” said Rob Anderson, CEO of THOP Sierra Campus. “It reflects our collective determination and promise to provide El Paso with the highest caliber of cardiac care. I commend our amazing staff of nurses, physicians and healthcare providers for their dedication to cardiovascular patients who could be our family, friends or loved ones. It isn’t an accident that the Sierra Campus is only one of 10 hospitals in the nation and the only hospital in El Paso to earn this designation – the entire team set their sights on a goal and worked determinedly for years to get better – one day at a time.”
As part of the criteria for HeartCARE, Sierra Campus previously achieved Chest Pain Center Accreditation, Cardiac Catheterization Lab Accreditation and Heart Failure Accreditation.
