Tenet Leadership at Bell Ringing

Tenet Rings in its 50th Year at the New York Stock Exchange

Our People

This month, Tenet celebrates 50 years of providing quality, compassionate care.

On Tuesday, May 21, Ron Rittenmeyer, Tenet’s Executive Chairman and CEO, and company leadership celebrated by ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The opening bell marks the start of the day’s trading session, and companies are invited to ring the bell for various reasons.

Tenet started out as a small operation in California. In May 1969, Tenet acquired four hospitals, including Doctors Medical Center of Modesto. Over the years, we’ve grown tremendously in size, scope and capability, building a home in new markets over time, and curating those homes to provide a compassionate environment for those entrusting us with their care.

“I am very passionate about what we do to improve the health and well-being of our neighbors and their loved ones, with the ultimate goal of saving lives,” said Ron. “I can’t think of a higher purpose to unite an organization from 1969 to today. Our impact spreads far and deep in our communities with 65 hospitals and over 500 outpatient centers and additional sites of care operated by our hospitals and USPI colleagues. The work Conifer is doing will help provide the foundation for better health for 730 clients across the country. Simply put, Tenet is an incredible organization that will continue to evolve in lockstep with community need.”
