In August and September of 2017, our country experienced unprecedented natural disasters with Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, followed by devastating fires in California and the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas. In response to these disasters and the ensuing blood shortage, Tenet launched its first National Blood Drive to help replenish our nation’s blood supply.
The Blood Drive was held September through October, and thanks to hundreds of caring donors, Tenet’s National Blood Drive was a huge success, collecting almost 900 units of blood for those in need.
“Thank you to everyone who participated in our first ever Tenet National Blood Drive,” said Eric Evans, Tenet’s President of Hospital Operations. “I greatly appreciate the tremendous support from our colleagues across the country to respond to recent disasters and tragedies. Our mission at Tenet is to help people live happier, healthier lives, and we know this mission goes far beyond the walls of our hospitals. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many.”
