The Heart Institute of Florida at Florida Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, has unveiled a new electrophysiology (EP) lab, which features some of the most cutting-edge technology in South Florida.
The EP lab is tied to Tenet South Florida markets’ strategic focus on expanding cardiovascular service lines to enhance the quality of care provided to the communities it serves.
The lab features the Philips EP Cockpit with Clarity IQ technology, including a 60-inch QHD screen that helps provide outstanding data integration and versatility for improved diagnosis and treatment during electrophysiology procedures. The Clarity IQ X-ray system offers high-quality imaging for precise catheter navigation.
The lab is also one of the first in Florida to offer the St. Jude (Abbot) Ensite Mapping System. The system creates 3-D maps of a patient’s heart that help board-certified electrophysiologists more accurately navigate the heart during diagnostic procedures.
“We are pleased to be able to offer this high level of care to our community,” said Trey Abshier, CEO of Florida Medical Center. “Our team works very closely with our physicians and surgeons to always provide care that can improve the lives of all people we serve. The addition of the EP Lab further demonstrates our commitment to delivering treatment to patients quickly and safely.”
