Abrazo West CEO Christina Oh joined other community leaders in welcoming Adelante Healthcare to the Abrazo West Campus during a recent ribbon cutting ceremony. Adelante is a Federally Qualified Health Center located on the east side of the campus.
Federally Qualified Health Centers are community-based healthcare providers that receive funds from the federal government to provide primary care services in underserved areas.
The center’s goal is to offer everything families need to get healthy – and stay healthy – all under one roof, including family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, family dental, behavioral health, on-site laboratory and pharmacy, WIC/nutrition and pediatrics.
The Abrazo West Campus is in the heart of the local Medical Innovation Corridor, and the leadership at Abrazo West was instrumental in supporting the center’s location, according to Adelante President & CEO Avein Tafoya.
“What we’re celebrating today is not bricks and mortar, but what happens when two organizations get together and ask a two-word question: ‘What if?’ This is the type of partner we’re proud to have on our campus. I’ve never seen an organization like this be so focused on not just healing the physical health of patients, but healing their mind and their sprit as well,” said Abrazo West Campus CEO Christina Oh.
“The close proximity with the hospital, and the resources of both of our organizations, provide a bridge to better health for our community,” she added.
The new 45,000-square-foot facility features a unique design by renowned architect Douglas Cardinal, who was inspired by the colors and shapes of the local geography.
