Tenet hospitals across the country are making moves by staying active and educating the public on healthy living in recognition of April’s National Move More Month, a designation by the American Heart Association (AHA) that encourages people to increase their physical activity for improved health. Colleagues are excited to participate, as physical activity is important to prevent heart disease and stroke, the nation’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers.

Twenty-seven Tenet hospitals earned an “A” in the April 2018 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades. Overall Tenet earned a Leapfrog GPA of 3.18 and continues to perform significantly above the national average GPA of 2.80.

Tenet Trauma Teams Honor National "Stop the Bleed" Day with Training and Education

Every second counts when someone is suffering from uncontrolled bleeding. According to, victims can die within five to 10 minutes. In an effort to educate the public about proper bleeding control techniques in emergencies, Tenet colleagues are participating in the “Stop the Bleed” campaign, which launched in 2015 by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The program began in 1987, adding to the hospital’s already established cardiac rehabilitation program, which began in 1974. This was the first in Arizona and first of its kind west of Mississippi.
