After their facilities temporarily closed due to government orders limiting elective procedures, 12 USPI employees from across the nation committed to a three-week minimum assignment at Tenet’s hospitals and locations in Detroit and Arizona to provide relief efforts to healthcare personnel during the pandemic.
Ashleigh McDonald, OR Circulator at USPI’s Baylor Scott and White Surgical Hospital at Sherman in Texas, was placed on the COVID unit at the Detroit Medical Center upon arrival.
“I have seen a lot of sickness and healing, and I have witnessed an extraordinary bond between healthcare workers from all over the country working together to save patients, giving our all to complete strangers,” shared Ashleigh. “I have never been so proud to call myself a nurse.”
