DALLAS – April 4, 2008 – Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) today announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Viant Holdings, Inc. that includes all Tenet hospitals, outpatient and ambulatory centers and employed physicians.  Beech Street and ppoNEXT are part of the Viant family of managed care networks.  Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“This agreement adds a significant number of our hospitals to the Viant networks,” said Stephen L. Newman, M.D., Tenet’s chief operating officer.  “Our goal is for all of our hospitals, outpatient centers and employed physicians to participate fully in these managed care networks at market-competitive rates.”

The following hospitals are new to the Beech Street network:

• Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford, N.C.
• Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa.
• St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, Pa.

• Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett, Bartlett, Tenn.
• Sylvan Grove Hospital, Jackson, Ga.

The following hospitals are new to the ppoNEXT network:

Sierra Providence East Medical Center, Tenet’s new 110-bed facility in El Paso that opens in May, will be added to both the Beech Street and ppoNEXT contracts.

Clint Hailey, Tenet’s chief managed care officer said, “This new agreement has allowed us to standardize and simplify the contracts our hospitals had with Beech Street and ppoNEXT. This is consistent with our strategy to enhance all our managed care contracts.”

Tenet has announced several national contracts with major payors recently for all its hospitals, including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna and CIGNA.  The company also successfully negotiated regional contracts, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas; Blue Cross of California; Great-West Healthcare in Florida; Memphis and Philadelphia; Coventry Healthcare in Texas and California; and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
