Description
Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer of Tenet Healthcare Corporation, the Vice President, Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Management will be responsible for developing and implementing plans, policies, practices and procedures that improve patient care, while appropriately advancing patient safety and quality and protecting the organization. He/she will also provide the leadership necessary to ensure that patient care and clinical services are provided in accordance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission standards and other accrediting/regulatory guidelines. The VP of Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Management will have responsibility for leading the continual review and refinement of the organization’s comprehensive patient safety and clinical risk management program. This executive will also lead and manage performance improvement activities, both in response to patient safety and quality issues and in pursuit of improved clinical performance.
Qualifications
A degree in Healthcare is required, either BSN, RN or MD. A Master’s degree is also required, in Nursing or related field of Health Administration, Business, Public Health or Management. Also required is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification, or an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certification. Strongly preferred is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification.
A minimum of ten years of clinical practice and knowledge of clinical risk management principles are required. At least ten years of experience in risk management, patient safety or hospital performance improvement work in health care, preferably in a multi-hospital system is required. Successfully demonstrated track record of working on an enterprise-wide level in a health care system.
