Description
The Senior Director, UCC Operations will play a key leadership role in developing a UCC management capability within Tenet. Initially, this role will focus on establishing Tenet’s approach to developing and managing UCCs. This work will include hiring key members of the UCC management team, creating a process to select locations for and develop UCCs, establishing key policies and processes for operating UCCs, and developing strategies to ensure UCCs deliver maximum synergy to local Tenet hospitals.
Once a UCC management capability has been established within Tenet, the Senior Director, UCC Operations will be responsible for developing and managing UCCs across communities in which Tenet operates acute care hospitals. This will include working with Tenet hospitals & Regions to develop UCCs in strategic locations, implementing and customizing operational processes, managing financial and operational performance, hiring and managing staff and market managers, and coordinating efforts to market UCC services.
Other key duties for the Senior Director include the following:
- Establish a team focused on managing Tenet UCCs and provide mentorship and direction to junior team members.
- Consistently achieve earnings targets through focused management of entire portfolio of UCC businesses, efforts to achieve top line growth, and margin improvement through cost discipline.
- Establish new freestanding UCC businesses, to include implementing and customizing key operational processes, hiring and mentor center employees and management, and leading initial marketing efforts to communicate the role of UCC in the community.
- Supervise one or more UCC market managers who are responsible for directly managing UCCs in a particular market on a day-to-day basis.
- Customize UCC services to meet the specific needs of the community (e.g., occ health programs for areas with large employers)
- Sustain positive relationships with Tenet-affiliated physicians and work with them to establish tactics which enable the UCC to support the growth of their practices.
- Identify opportunities to grow UCC businesses through traditional marketing efforts, as well as innovative approaches (e.g., direct-to-employer marketing).
- Communicate with local hospital administrative teams to demonstrate the value UCC provides to hospital, and to coordinate UCC programs to support other Tenet programs / activities in that market.
- Support Outpatient Services Development Team efforts to acquire and develop UCCs, to include conducting analysis and research to support assumptions used in financial models used to secure approval for UCC-related projects.
Education
Qualified candidates are required to have an undergraduate degree, with a Master’s degree, preferably in Business or Healthcare Administration, a definite plus.
