 Emergency Preparedness

Tenet's Disaster Preparedness Task Force has developed proven methods to promote patient and employee safety, as well as business continuity during disasters. Key elements of the disaster preparedness program include:

  • Training – Tenet trains hospital and corporate personnel how to react in the case of a catastrophic event, and routine disaster drill exercises are performed regularly.
  • Reserves– We have a reserve program in place for antiviral medications and personal protective equipment.
  • Resources - While each Tenet hospital is responsible for resource planning, Tenet has a resource program that is capable of re-supplying essential necessities such as fuel and generators, water and food, security and transportation.
  • Emergency Notification System – Tenet employs state-of-the-art technology to send emergency messages to all Tenet employees or defined sub-sets.
